Rowan Lester is still the best of the Irish after adding a one-under-par 71 to lie three-under going into the final round of the Clutch Pro Tour event at Frilford Heath.
The Hermitage man combined three birdies with two bogeys to end the day in a tie for 36th, eight off the leader Angus Flanagan.
Flanagan added a four-under-par 68 to his opening 65 to sit 11-under, one clear of Ryan Evans.
Flanagan mixed five birdies with a solitary bogey on the last in a solid round which gives him a one shot lead heading into the final round.
Liam Grehan put up a valiant effort but it wasn’t enough to make the cut in Oxfordshire. Grehan shot a two-under-par 70 and if it wasn’t for a double bogey on his card, the K Club man would’ve made it through to the final day.
Tom Dowdall shot a colourful level-par 72 to finish on eight-over par, well outside the cut line.
The final round is underway with Rowan Lester looking to go as low as he can.
