And the winner of the Stackstown Pro-Am is… You know the rest.

Colm Moriarty is back on a winning streak after he made it back to back victories and five for the season when he clinched the Stackstown Pro-Am on Friday.

Moriarty carded a five-under-par round of 67 to win by three shots from Damian Mooney and Irish PGA champion Simon Thornton.

Even better, the Glasson Lakehouse Head Professional was bogey-free, carding birdies on the fourth, tenth and fourteenth and an eagle on the fifth.

After knocking on the door with 10 top-10 finishes – including two runners-up and a further three third-place results, Moriarty now has five wins in his last ten starts as he looks to chase down top spot on the Order of Merit.

“I’ve been playing pretty nicely all year really, just not getting it done. Leading up to the [Irish PGA] Championship, I felt that my game was coming together nicely and I played well there in the Pro-Am and then I played OK the first couple of rounds.

“In the last round, I think I shot 65 and that kind of got me going, I suppose. I think I finished third there in the end, but from then on I’ve shot a lot of really good scores.”

Mooney and Thornton shared second place while Richard O’Donovan, Richard Kilpatrick and the evergreen Jimmy Bolger claimed a share of fourth place on one-under.

Michael McDermott, Nicky Grant and Eoin O’Brien shared seventh on level-par while Brian McCormack, Neil O’Briain and Niall McGlynn rounded off the top-10 on one-over.
