Olivia Costello continued her fine early season form as she claimed the runner-up spot at the Triple A European Open at San Roque.

Costello carded rounds of 76, 73 and 71 for a four-over total which was five shots shy of eventual winner Ebba Mejer in the U21 Girls Championship.

The Irish international had been in front after day one on four-over but Mejer came back from her 77 with back to back rounds of 69 to hold off Costello.

The Roscommon star has been playing very well of late and was a crucial part of Ireland’s silver medal at the recent Women’s Octagonal Matches where she formed a strong foursomes partnership with Aideen Walsh while also proving hard to beat in the singles.

The teenager recently received honorary life membership of Roscommon Golf Club and ended 2025 as the Triple A World Series champion, winning by a staggering 14 shots.

Last November, she moved from the U18 Girls High Performance Panel to the Women’s Panel for Golf Ireland as she helped Ireland secure a bronze medal at the European Girls’ Team Championships.
