Brady clinches amateur honours at King Hamad Trophy

Aodhagan Brady romped to a five shot victory in the amateur section of the King Hamad Trophy at Royal Golf Club in Bahrain.

Brady carded a final round of 69 for an eleven-under total with England’s Luke Jenkins taking second place on six-under.

The Maynooth University student started well with back to back birdies on the third and fourth holes. He made back to back bogeys on 7 and 8 but recovered with a birdie at the ninth.

Brady has found the closing stretch to his liking all week and today was no different as he birdied the 14th and 18th taking his aggregate score from holes 12-18 to seven-under.

James O’Rourle closed with a final round of 70 to take fifth place in the amateur ranks on level-par with James Walsh two shots further back.

In the overall leaderboard, Brady claimed second place and was two shots behind Tom Sloman who closed with a 67 to win on thirteen-under.
