Beth Coulter and Kate Lanigan are just three shots off the early lead after the opening round of the European Ladies Amateur Championship in Sweden.
Both girls carded rounds of one-under 70 with Spaniard Carla Tejedo Mulet two shots in front on four-under-par.
Kirkistown Castle’s Coulter had an electric start, birdieing three of her opening six holes before back-to-back bogeys on 8 and 9.
A bogey on 12 dropped her back to level-par but she bounced back with a birdie on the par-3 17th to get back in the red for the day.
Meanwhile, Lanigan put together a back nine of 33 to join Coulter in a share of seventh place.
The Hermitage woman turned in 37 after a birdie on 6 was followed by two bogeys in three holes.
Lanigan kickstarted her round with back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12 and having handed a shot back on 13 she birdied the par-4 15th and closed with three pars.
Lahinch’s Aine Donegan is in a share of 29th place on two-over-par after an opening 73 while Elm Park’s Anna Foster is on plus five and Rebekah Gardner +13.
