All three of Ireland’s travelling High-Performance panellists have made the 54-hole cut to the final round of the Italian International Ladies’ Amateur Championship at Is Molas Golf Club in Italy.
Lauren Walsh continues to lead the way from an Irish perspective and is not without hope heading into Saturday’s deciding round.
The Castlewarden star remains inside the top-10 at the tournament and just seven shots off the lead after carding a two-over 74 on moving day for a plus-five tournament total.
Walsh’s steady play has distanced her from Ireland’s two other competing amateurs with Annabel Wilson dropping down the leaderboard after a bit of a struggle in the third round.
The Lurgan teenager posted her worst round of the week, a seven-over 79 but remains inside the top-25 and with 18-holes to improve on her 12-over par tournament total.
While without her best stuff, Paula Grant ensured that all three Irish players would see out the four-round tournament after grinding out a moving day 77.
The Lisburn golfer, who juggles locum work and elite amateur golf, maintained her spot inside the top-50, albeit at 17-over par.
Lily May Humphreys has Alessia Nobilio for company at the top of the leaderboard heading into day four after the Englishwoman’s 74 brought her back to the field at two-under par
ILGU High Performance Manager David Kearney has travelled with the three Irish High Performance panellists for the duration of the event.
