It was a case of ‘Job Done’ as far as Leona Maguire was concerned at LPGA Stage II Q-School yesterday as she achieved what she set out to do and completed 72 holes, in the process claiming an automatic card for the Symmetra Tour.

Maguire, who plans to finish her studies at Duke University, will not be taking up the opportunity to play at Stage III and play for one of 20 LPGA Tour Cards as this would mean she has to take up membership immediately should she qualify and she has declared that she wishes to complete her Duke education and then look at her options.

Sitting in T4 place heading into the final day all that was required was a cool head and there’s none cooler under pressure than Maguire, who returned a level par 72 to finish the qualification stage on seven under par in T9 position.

Georgia Hall took the plaudits after leading the qualification stage returning a 68 on the final day to win by two shots on twelve under par.
