England retained their Senior Home Internationals crown at Rosslare Golf Club as they remained unbeaten and dominated proceedings.
After day two was abandoned due to high winds in Rosslare day play got underway on the final day with Ireland defeating Scotland 6-3 but England crushed Wales and ran out 7.5-1.5 winners. They then only needed to secure half a point in the afternoon against Scotland to take the title.
They duly delivered as they halved with Scotland 4.5 -4.5 and while Ireland applied the pressure by beating Wales 7.5 – 1.5 they were left to settle for second place with their opening day defeat by England being the deciding factor.
