Gleeson, Ross, Grant & O’Rourke travel to Brazil

A strong Irish contingent of Paula Grant (Lisburn), Jessica Ross (Clandeboye), Alex Gleeson (Castle) and Conor O’Rourke (Naas) have travelled to Buenos Aires for this weeks’ South American Amateur Championship which gets underway tomorrow.

The South American Amateur Championship is organised by the Argentine Golf Association and is supported by the R&A and Martindale Country Club. The Championship provides points for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and the R&A is once again backing the event which this year sees a host of elite international amateurs do battle for the highly coveted title. Participation in the 72 hole stroke play event for up to 30 overseas players is greatly facilitated by the R&A’s generous subsidy that assists with flights and entry fees.
