Intent on turning pro in the summer, the final chapter in Arizona State University’s Beth Coulter’s amateur career could include a trip around Amen Corner with a scorecard in her pocket.

Since 2019, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur has provided the perfect lead-in to the main event, showcasing the best female amateur golfers on the planet in the process.

For the second-year running, Beth Coulter will fly the Irish flag, but it was a bittersweet week for the Kirkistown Castle star last year.

With rounds one and two being held at Champions Retreat Golf Club in nearby Evans, Georgia, the entire field then move over to Augusta National for a Friday practice round before the top 30 players play Augusta National again in the final round on Saturday.

Despite being well-placed after an opening level-par 72, a 77 in round two meant that Coulter would only be participating in the practice round and this year she’s aiming to go one better and, with her intentions to turn pro after graduating from Arizona State University already declared, sign off on a glittering amateur career on a high.

A member of the victorious 2024 Curtis Cup and 2025 Vagliano Trophy sides, Coulter’s love for Augusta National predates her love of playing the game.

“I probably watched it before I played golf when I was nine,” said the 21-year-old. “It’s one of those things that everybody watches, it’s one of those iconic events that it doesn’t matter if you play golf or not – you will watch it.”
