He needed a par to claim his first victory of 2026 and the $330,000 winner’s cheque, but adrenalin got the better of Pádraig Harrington and he ended up overshooting the green and made bogey.

Then, Steven Alker stuck an approach to four feet and completed the smash and grab. It was still a good week’s work for the reigning Senior Open and Senior U.S. Open champion, however, as he walked away with almost $200,000 in earnings and fellow countryman Darren Clarke picked up $25k and change for a T21.

Harrington has now earned almost $9.5 million in the four seasons that he’s been competing on the senior circuit, in addition to the $26.3 million he won on the regular PGA Tour.

At the Valspar Championship, Matt Fitzpatrick put last week’s Players Championship disappointment behind him in the best possible way by claiming victory with a 72nd hole birdie.

His winner’s prizemoney at the Valspar was almost $600k less than he received for finishing runner-up at TPC Sawgrass, however, but it takes his season’s earnings to over $5.2 million with three quarters of the year and four major championships yet to come.

Séamus Power made another cut and banked another cheque, but the $51k and change he received could’ve been considerably more were it not for two double bogeys on the final day.

At the inaugural LIV South Africa event, Bryson DeChambeau produced one of the shots of the week to edge Jon Rahm in a playoff and earned back-to-back victories.

It’s the second time in eight days that the two-time U.S. Open winner has been presented with a $4 million first prize, and takes his total individual LIV earnings close to $60 million in the four years since making the move.

Rahm, who still has yet to finish outside the top 10 in a LIV event, earned $2.25 million, while fellow Legion XIII man Tom McKibbin picked up $187,500 for finishing middle of the pack and Graeme McDowell had to make do with $50,000 after a disappointing week following two memorable ones.
