Leona Maguire moved into a share of eleventh place ahead of the final round of the Blue Bay LPGA in Hainan Island.
Maguire continued her trend of every second round being in the 60s as she carded a 69 to reach five under par and she is within seven shots of Mi Hyang Lee’s lead.
The Cavan woman was one over through five but clicked into gear with three successive birdies from the sixth.
She had a similar start to her back nine with bogeys on 11 and 13 but moved back into the fringes of contention with three birdies in four holes.
Lauren Walsh made her first LPGA cut of the season on her debut but she had a moving day to forget as she slumped to an eight-over 80 to prop up the field.
At the top, Hyang Lee leads by three shots on 12-under after a 71.
Hyang Lee carded just five pars in a rollercoaster round that saw her mix seven birdies and six bogeys.
