Cameron Clark remains on course to earn one of the four Legends Tour cards on offer at Q-School at Gloria Golf Resort in Turkey after a one-over 73 left him sharing second place going into the fourth and final round.
The Northern Irishman held the 36-hole lead after back-to-back 69s – the first on Gloria’s New Course and the second on the Old Course – and it looked as though he was going to build on his advantage when he birdied two of the opening four holes in round three back on the New Course again.
But a double bogey on the par-4 seventh hole stalled his momentum, and though he’d get one of those two shots back with a birdie on nine, two bogeys on the back nine saw him sign for a one-over 73 that dropped him back to five-under alongside England’s Paul Streeter, one shot behind leader Michael Jonzon of Sweden.
Despite playing those final 12 holes in three-over, Clark enjoys a two-stroke advantage over Frenchman Anthony Grenier in solo fourth, and a further stroke back to the trio sharing fifth at -2.
Damian Mooney and Gary Murphy also made the 36-hole cut, but rounds of 74 and 76 leave them on +6 and +8 respectively, and they look to be too far back to mount a late challenge.
