Beth Coulter will make her second appearance at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur after she received her second invite to the tournament.
It will be a fitting way to bow out of collegiate golf four Coulter who is in her final semester with Arizona State University.
The world number 48 missed the cut on her debut last year and she will be hoping for better when she makes her way down Magnolia Lane this April.
Before Coulter had even picked up a golf club, she had already watched the Masters on television with Tiger Woods’ euphoric comeback victory against all the odds in 2019 her standout moment.
“I probably watched it before I played golf when I was nine,” said the 21-year-old. “It’s one of those things that everybody watches, it’s one of those iconic events that it doesn’t matter if you play golf or not, you will watch it. I remember watching it from a really young age, I can’t remember my first Masters that I watched.
“My favourite memory is Tiger Woods in 2019. That was really, really cool. To see him do that after all he had been through over the last few years and getting all the injuries, to do that was unreal. That one stands out the most.”
The Kirkistown Castle star has enjoyed a glittering amateur career to date, helping GB&I to a first Curtis Cup win over America since 2016 at Sunningdale in 2024, she then combined with Áine Donegan as GB&I won the Vagliano Trophy last year for the first time since 2005.
The pro ranks awaits for Coulter and she may decide to bow out in style either with a victory at Augusta National or the Curtis Cup in LA in June.
