Cunningham and Moran inside the top 10 with 18 to go at Guadalhorce

Galway amateur Luke Cunningham and Robert Moran will go into the final round in fifth and seventh place respectively at the Winter Tour Marbella Series event at Guadalhorce.

Cunningham, who represents Galway Bay Golf Club, carded nine birdies in a seven-under-par second round and moved to -6 overall where he shares fifth place with Dutch professional Tim van der Steen, while Moran, who began the day level with the Galway amateur, shot a six-under 66 that included five birdies in his first seven holes and he sits tied for seventh at -5.

Sam Murphy, who began the day as the leading Irishman at -2, followed up with a one-under 71 and shares 11th place as he prepares for his maiden pro campaign on the Alps Tour, while John Murphy (+1), Ronan Mullarney (+6), Luke O’Neill (+9) and Declan Loftus (+10) all made the cut.

Holland’s Lars van der Vight leads on 11-under-par, with England’s Leon Fricker one shot behind at -10.
