Áine Donegan is sitting pretty heading into the final round of Ladies European Tour Q-School at Al Maaden Golf Marrakech & Royal Golf Marrakech.
Donegan, who only turned professional a few weeks ago, fired an impressive 68 to climb into a share of seventh place on ten-under-par.
The Lahinch woman is four shots inside the top-20 and ties which would secure Category 12 status for the LET next year but she might be looking up rather than over her shoulder as she trails leading trio Agathe Laisne, Dorota Zalewska and Anna Morgan by three shots.
After a Thursday 67, Donegan continued that momentum and started in superb fashion with four birdies in her first six holes at Royal Golf.
The 23-year-old dropped a shot on the seventh but was moving along nicely again with birdies on the 10th and 12th. A bogey at the last hasn’t done much damage and she is well placed to earn a LET card next season.
Seven-under is the top-20 and ties mark and Olivia Mehaffey has work to do if she is to climb the leaderboard and earn back her LET status next year.
The Tandragee woman slipped to a costly 74 to drift out to four-under and a share of 40th place and since this event was reduced to 72 holes a slow day leaves little room for further errors.
Annabel Wilson is back in 89th place on one-over after a 74 while Canice Screene is a shot further back after a 71.
