Alex Maguire fell down the leaderboard on day two of Asian Tour Q-School but he remains inside the card places.
Maguire who started brilliantly with a 66 on the A/B course at Lake View Resort, found the going tough on the C/D track, and had to settle for a 73 which leaves him on three-under and sitting in a share of 33rd place with the top-35 earning cards for next season.
The Laytown&Bettystown star, who has MENA Tour status for 2026, was two-over after seven holes but managed to get a shot back with a birdie on the par-5 8th.
He got back to level-par for the day and five-under overall with a birdie on the 10th but carded back to back bogeys on 11 and 12 which saw him slip back down the leaderboard.
It was a similar day for John-Ross Galbraith who is in a share of 58th position on one-under after a 72 on the C/D course.
Galbraith bookended his round with bogeys with his only birdie coming on the 8th hole.
India’s Shubham Jaglan who has only been a professional for a few months leads the way.
“I played awesome,” said the 21-year-old from New Delhi.
“I’ve been putting really well. If I count the feet of putts I made – I think tour average is like 70-80, me and my coach keep a track of that – and I’ve had over 100 feet of putts both days.”
He made his professional debut in July, surviving the cut at the Bromont Open on the PGA Tour Americas in Canada. He has continued to build on that and finished second at the Trident Open, after losing in a play-off, on the Professional Golf Tour of India, just last month.
“I’m reading my lines really well. I think I did a much better job of not getting angry. I think I struggled with that a little bit yesterday and let a few silly shots get away,” he added.
“It was playing tougher, we played CD, and it was playing a little tougher, but I managed to do a great job of staying present and just focusing on one shot at a time.”
