Áine Donegan and Olivia Mehaffey made big moves to boost their hopes of earning a Ladies European Tour card as the final stage of Q-School reached the halfway stage.

Now reduced to four rounds after Tuesday was rained off, Donegan and Mehaffey sit in a share of tenth place on six-under-par with the top-20 and ties at Al Maaden Golf Marrakech & Royal Golf Marrakech earning cards for the 2026 season.

Donegan was the star from an Irish point of view. After her patience was tested with sixteen pars on Wednesday she was rampant as she carded a blistering bogey-free 67 that included six birdies at Al Maaden Golf.

The Lahinch woman birdied the par-3 3rd and had to wait until the ninth for her next red number. She made it back to back birdies on the tenth and sank her third in four holes on the par-3 12th.

The former Curtis Cup star finished with a flourish with birdies on the 16th and 18th as she took advantage of the two closing par fives.

Mehaffey carded a 69 but there was also a very impressive response after she opened with back to back bogeys also at Al Maaden.

Mehaffey burst into life with birdies on the sixth and ninth before she got back into the mix for a card with four birdies on the back nine.

The current cut off for cards is five-under-par and Annabel Wilson and Canice Screene have work to do over the next 36 holes if they are to secure cards via Q-School for the second straight year.

Castlerock star Wilson is back in a share of 77th place on level-par after a damaging 74 at Royal Golf Marrakech while former Irish Close champion Screene’s hopes are dangling by a thread after she slipped to a 77 to drop to four-over and share 121st place.

However, the pair have been given a reprieve. With the tournament reduced to 72 holes there is no cut so opportunity for status is still alive.

Thailand’s Napat Lertsadwattana leads the way by the minimum on nine-under after a superb 65.
