Áine Donegan insists that patience will be crucial this week if she is to secure her Ladies European Tour card at the final stage of Q-School at Royal Golf Marrakech & Al Maaden Golf Marrakech.

Donegan, who turned professional in advance of Q-School, breezed through last week’s pre-qualifier in top spot and she looks primed for the gruelling five day challenge where the top-20 and ties will earn Category 12 status for 2026.

“I’ll take it shot by shot and one day at a time. It’s a marathon not a sprint and I’ll just try to enjoy it. So far I’ve had a great time,” said the Lahinch woman who joins Annabel Wilson, Canice Screene and Olivia Mehaffey who are looking to win back their LET status starting from tomorrow until December 20th.

The 23-year-old had a successful amateur career helping Catriona Matthew’s GB&I side win the 2024 Curtis Cup – a side which included LET winners Lottie Woad and Mimi Rhodes plus 2025 rookies Sara Byrne and Lorna McClymont.

Donegan also helped GB&I end a 20-year drought in the Vagliano Trophy.

The former LSU student has close friend Sam Murphy as her caddie once again this week. The pair practice regularly together under the stewardship of Gary Madden in Glenlo Abbey.

One interesting name in the field is Sweden’s Ingrid Lindblad who is teeing up this week as she continues her quest to make Anna Nordqvist’s Solheim Cup team. The Swede is a one-time winner on the LPGA and previously spent 53 weeks as the World’s No 1 Amateur.

Now sitting at a lofty 53rd in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, Lindblad currently has no LET status – a requirement needed to make the European Solheim Cup team. While teeing up in Morocco the 25-year-old will still be looking to make a big statement as she eyes a spot at the 2026 Solheim Cup.

Lindblad and Donegan were teammates during a successful period for Louisiana State University.
