Lauren Walsh continues to battle valiantly in her bid to win a LPGA Tour card but she will have to put on a sprint finish after the 90-hole q-series final was reduced to 72 holes due to inclement weather.

Rain has caused suspensions to the first and third rounds and Walsh had played just five holes of her third round before play was suspended due to darkness following an earlier stoppage for unplayable course conditions.

The 25-year-old was making more inroads on the leaderboard and was one-under through five holes on the Falls Course at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Alabama. It left her in a share of 42nd place on level-par and three shots outside the top-25 who will earn cards for next year.

The goal now for the LPGA is to complete 72 holes by Tuesday after two days of essentially no golf. There will still be no cut but Walsh finds herself firmly in contention for one of the 25 available cards.
