Lauren Walsh secured her sixth top-five finish of the campaign and collected her biggest career paycheque to date with a third-place finish at the LET’s Wistron Ladies Open in Taiwan.

With the weather wreaking havoc at Sunrise Golf and Country Club all week, the event was reduced to 36 holes and Walsh, having battled through the worst of the conditions in the rain and fog for her first 18 holes (split over two days) came into the final round trailing by five.

A bogey-free five-under-par final round wasn’t enough to reel in the leaders, but crucial birdies on 17 and 18 were enough to give her sole possession of third place and, along with over €56,000 in prizemoney, lifted her into the top 10 of the LET Order of Merit with just two events remaining.

Holding onto a top-10 placing would see the Carton House touring pro gain entry to the AIG Women’s Open in 2026 and give her another bite at the LPGA Q-School cherry by gaining a place at Final Qualifying Stage.

Ya Ni Tseng went on to clinch her seventh LET title, in what was an emotional win on home soil, finishing on 14 under-par for the two rounds.

“I’ve been waiting for this trophy for so long”, said the former world number one. “To win this tournament in my home country and in front of my family and friends is amazing. I’ve been really emotional from this win, and just shows you should never give up on your dreams.”

Tseng started Sunday tied at the top with Thailand’s Nook Sukapan but still had four holes to complete of round one due to it being suspended yesterday. She then went back out for the final round later this morning.

She had an impressive run of five birdies on the bounce and carded an additional three including one on the last.

It’s been a long time coming since her last win, the most recent being 2014 Taifong Ladies Open.

“It’s been a very long time since I’ve felt this”, she said. “I’m so grateful for my fans, friends, and family all cheering me on. It really helped with them on the course and gave me a lot of confidence throughout the last couple of days. Until the last hole, I wasn’t sure if the scores were correct on the board. It’s been such a long time to be able to stand in this position.”
