Cavan’s Leona Maguire posted a one-under-par final round to finish her week at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea on four-under in a tie for 56th as Sei Young Kim cruised to a four-stroke win.

It was a lacklustre weekend for Maguire, who could only show her class in glimpses as she failed to gain any momentum over the four days.

Maguire earned her first birdie of the day on the par-3 third hole with a dart of a tee shot, before adding another birdie at the par-4 seventh.

Similarly to her previous rounds, momentum began to die for Maguire on the back nine, as she failed to gain any strokes on the field and eventually succumbing to a bogey on the par-5 17th to post a 71.

Maguire earned 4.400 points for her bid to get well inside the top 60 Race to CME Globe rankings, where she now sits 53rd. Maguire will need to place well in the remaining three events if she is looking to get some comfort room from the cut off point.

It was delight for decade-long LPGA Tour veteran and hometown hero Sei Young Kim who carded a final round 67 to cement her top spot, winning by four strokes at 24-under.

This is Kim’s 13th career title since joining the tour in 2015, and it’s her first since her last victory at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020.

Kim was flawless around Pine Beach Golf Links with the South Korean only dropping a shot at the par-3 third before finding six birdies throughout her remaining holes to fend off Japan’s Nasa Hataoka, her closest rival who finished solo second at 20-under.

Hataoka also had a round of 67, with Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim two strokes behind Hataoka at 18-under in a share of third place.

Defending champion Hannah Green posted a six-under round to finish 17-under to share T5 with USA’s Yealimi Noh.
