Naoyuki Kataoka has qualified for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale after winning the Japan Open Golf Championship.
The 27-year-old won his second career title with a par on the first playoff hole over compatriot Satoshi Hara. The pair finished regulation play on three-under-par 277 after each carding 68 in the final round.
This will be the first time Kataoka competes in The Open.
The next event in The Open Qualifying Series is the Link Hong Kong Open taking place at Hong Kong Golf Club from 30 October – 2 November.
