With only the season-ending Alps Tour Grand Final left to play, Order of Merit points was the main talking point in the final round of the Parma Alps Open with the top five in the rankings earning promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour for 2026.

Ronan Mullarney came into the week in fourth place in the Order of Merit and a closing five-under 67 saw him climb into a share of 15th place and cling on to the number four ranking though just over 400 points separate him from sixth-ranked Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela who finished one shot ahead of Mullarney.

Spain’s Azier Aguirre Izcue made two eagles on the final day and finished second overall, lifting him into the fifth and final promotion place, while Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa edged him by one shot, and moves to second in the Order of Merit and is now guaranteed promotion along with Spain’s Javier Barcos who leads the rankings and third-placed Quentin Debove of France.

Just over 400 points separate Mullarney from Cabezuela in sixth, so each shot could prove crucial in the Grand Final and a victory could be enough to see any of the players ranked seven-through-17 steal in to secure the final spot.

17th place is held by Hugh Foley, who shot a disappointing final-round of 75 to drop back to 46th on the leaderboard in Parma, and even if he does win the Grand Final, he’ll need other results to go his way if he’s to end his rookie pro season with promotion.
