Moneyball – MacIntyre’s party continues

Robert MacIntyre would’ve been forgiven for going through the motions after jetting back across the Atlantic – a little worse for the wear, no doubt – after helping Team Europe to a memorable Ryder Cup win at Bethpage, but the Scot quickly dusted himself off and went on the secure his first Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and his second victory on home soil.

MacIntyre earned $800,000 for his efforts, while second-placed Tyrrell Hatton collected $533,330.

Tom McKibbin was the leading Irishman and earned just over $63,000, moving up four places in the Race to Dubai and to within striking distance of the top 50 which would see him into the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

Conor Purcell collects $35,700 and now heads to Madrid hoping for a good week and a further push up the Race to Dubai rankings as time is running out on his bid to retain a DP World Tour card for 2026.

Seamus Power had a disappointing final round at the Sanderson Farms Championship and the $15k and change he earned will be little consolation as he missed out on a good opportunity to earn crucial FedEx Cup Fall points as he too needs to finish the season strongly to retain his playing rights next season.

American Steven Fisk has no such worries as his first PGA Tour win secures his card and comes with a $1,080,000 bonus, while South African Garrick Higgo had to settle for runner-up and $654,000 and Rasmus Hojgaard, also fresh off the Ryder Cup win, finished T3 for $318,000 and went a long way to securing his status for next year.

On the LPGA, Stephanie Meadow made her first cut after a long layoff, earning just over $7,500, while Korean Youmin Hwang, playing on an invitation, earned a full LPGA Tour card and $450,000.
