Round two of the LET Lacoste Ladies Open got underway on Friday as prime conditions seen plenty of mid-60 rounds across the leaderboard.

Amongst those was Dublin’s Lauren Walsh as the 25-year-old posted a bogey free six-under-par round to sit in T27 at three-under-par after 36 holes.

It was a steady start for Walsh, who made one birdie on the front nine, but the Dubliner came alive on the back, making five birdies in seven holes.

Walsh was precision personified off the tee, hitting all 13 fairways in regulation as she continues her immense form this season.

One shot back from Walsh is Dublin’s Anna Foster as the Elm Green golfer posted a two-under-par 69 round two to put the 24-year-old in T35 heading into the third and final round.

Armagh’s Annabel Wilson, who sat outside the one-over cutline before teeing off did well to get into red figures as the 24-year-old posted a two-under-par round to sit in T49 at even-par.

Cork’s Sarah Byrne couldn’t continue the momentum she gained in round one as the 24-year-old got off to a horror start, making four bogeys on the front nine.

Byrne managed to mix in a few birdies on the back nine but ultimately could not get rid of sore errors as she posted a three-over round two, heading into round three in T59 on one-over.

16-year-old Canadian Anna Huang holds the lead at 10-under as she fired a seven-under round to climb from T8.

Huang made her only bogey of the day on the seventh before rolling in birdies on nine, 12, 13, 15 and 17 to seal a round of 64.

“Today was a really solid day, I was hitting it really well and I made a lot of putts on the back nine, so that helped,” said the LET rookie. “My driver wasn’t as great today, I found myself in the trees a couple of times, but I was able to bounce back.”

“France has been fun, this place is really nice. Tomorrow, I will have the same mindset as always. I will stay in the present and just focus on myself and hopefully, I don’t look at the leaderboard too many times,” added the youngster.

Three players are in a share of second place with Germany’s Helen Briem, Italy’s Alessia Nobilio and South Africa’s Casandra Alexander all on nine-under-par at Golf Barrière in Deauville.

LET winner Briem followed up an opening 66 (-5) with a 67 (-4) on day two which included two bogeys and six birdies.

“It’s a huge step forward for me to have two rounds under-par in a row,” said Briem. “That’s great and I’m in a good position for tomorrow and we will see what happens.”

“I will try to get that win. It’s now a year without a win from La Sella Open last year to last week. We will see. I will give it everything tomorrow and I hope it’s my time,” added the German.

Italy’s Alessia Nobilio led after 18-holes, rolled in her first birdie of the day on the 10th before adding another on the 18th hole.

The Italian rookie did make bogeys on the first and fourth holes but bounced back immediately with birdies on five, six and nine for her round of 68 (-3).

“I had another pretty steady round today; I only made a couple of bogeys on the front nine,” said Nobilio. “I was able to get those shots back right away, I’m very happy with how I handled it.”

Round three will begin at 9:35am local time, with Walsh teeing off at 9:57am local time.
