With another two DP World Tour Q-School Stage One Qualifiers taking place this week, Robert Moran and Jordan Boles are in action at Frederikshavn Golfklub in Denmark with action getting underway on Tuesday, while Mark Power, Alex Maguire and Stephen Grant wait until Wednesday to hit the fairways at Golfclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf in Austria.
After an extremely impressive performance at the Irish Challenge earned him an Irish Open berth at the K Club, Moran’s given himself a chance of securing HotelPlanner Tour status for 2026 but is seeking to go one better and play his way onto the DP World Tour and he’s off to a fine start.
Despite opening his event with a double bogey on the par-4 first, he battled back to level-par through four with back-to-back birdies before another ‘six’ – this time on a par-5 – saw him reach the turn at one-over.
Birdies on 10 and 14 got him into red figures and he’d complete the back nine without a blemish on the card to post a one-under 71 that sees him into a share of sixth place on a day where just 13 of the 66 players in the field managed to break par.
It was a day to forget for amateur Jordan Boles, however, who carded a nine-over 81 but has at least another 18 holes to get himself back into the reckoning with it being expected that the top 14 players and ties will be advancing to Stage Two.
