Seamus Power’s steady start to the FedEx Cup Fall season continued with a round of 70 on day three of the Procore Championship.

Power is six-under for the tournament and in a share of 25th place but is ten shots off the pace set by US Ryder Cup player Ben Griffin.

Coming in at 130th in the FedEx Cup Rankings, Power needs to play well over the Fall Series if he’s to push his way inside the top 100 and earn a full card for the 2026 campaign.

Currently the West Waterford man is projected to move into 123rd position which would earn him conditional PGA TOUR status.

Not much happened for Power on the front nine who sandwiched birdies on the second and fifth between bogeys on the first and seventh and he was over par for the day through eleven holes.

But he put on a fast finish with three birdies in a row from the 13th.

At the top, Griffin leads by one shot from US Walker Cup star Jackson Koivun with world number one Scottie Scheffler just two off the lead on fourteen-under.

This pre-Ryder Cup camp from Keegan Bradley has proven fruitful with JJ Spaun and Russell Henley in a share of ninth place on nine-under.

Despite a bogey at the last, Griffin carded a 70 as he looks to hold off the pack and clinch his third win of 2025.

He had held the 54-hole lead at the Memorial but lost out to Scottie Scheffler and he will have to hold off the Open and PGA champion this time.

“Not too worried about what he’s going to do. I’ve just got to play better than him,” Griffin said. “And if I do that tomorrow, should be able to lift the trophy. Obviously there’s some other guys there in the mix, too, but I think everyone knows what Scottie Scheffler is capable of and I’ve just got to stay in front.”

For amateur Koivun, an upset victory would complete a dream fortnight after he imposed during USA’s Walker Cup win over GB&I.

The last amateur to win on the PGA TOUR was Nick Dunlap, someone Koivun knows well.

“I know Nick pretty well. He’s a great guy. I haven’t really talked with him about this week, but definitely might want to go watch his rerun and see what he did.”

After ending his streak of 21 straight rounds in the 60s, Scheffler is back in the race for his sixth PGA TOUR title after a blistering 64 moved him to 14-under.

“I mean if I go out and play good consistent golf, I’m going to start moving my way up the leaderboard and that was the goal going into today,” said Scheffler, who made the turn in 5-under 30.

“Hit a lot of greens, holed some putts,” Scheffler added. “On afternoon Poa, the ball has a tendency to move around … But did a good job of holing some nice putts today.”
