Round two of the LPGA FM Championship resumed today in much more manageable conditions after a weather delay on Friday evening forced suspension at TPC Boston.
Cavan’s Leona Maguire only managed to complete four holes before the play was halted on Friday, but the two-time LPGA Tour winner may be wishing she could have completed an uninterrupted round two as the 30-year-old struggled when play resumed on Saturday.
Maguire was even-par when the claxon sounded and needed a big push to get inside the two-under-par cutline.
Maguire resumed her round two with a slow start as she failed to make a single birdie throughout the 18 holes, as she carded a four-over-par round two, putting Maguire on three-over par for the week and out for the weekend.
It was a tale of missed greens for Maguire as she was steady off the tee box but only managed 10/18 greens in regulation.
Missed greens have not been an issue for the leaders, as multiple mid-60 rounds were carded in round two.
It’s South Korea’s Sei Young Kim who takes the lead into round three as another seven-under-par 65 sees the 32-year-old three shots clear at 14-under-par.
China’s Miranda Wang occupies a solo second after a five-under-par round two takes the 26-year-old to 11-under.
It was USA’s Rose Zhang who carded the lowest round of the day with an eight-under-par 64 to see her fly up the leaderboard to occupy third place at 10-under-par.
Round three is set to begin at 17:15pm Irish time.
