Round two of the FM Championship at TPC Boston was halted on Friday due to darkness as less than half of the field were able to complete their second rounds before the claxon sounded.

On a day that also saw a rain delay earlier in the afternoon, Cavan’s Leona Maguire managed to squeeze in four holes but will need something major if she is to climb the leaderboard when play resumes.

Maguire sits at even-par in a tie for 81st at the time of suspension and with the projected cutline currently set at two-under-par, the 30-year-old will need to find momentum if she is to add to her 99 made cuts on the LPGA.

Maguire will be hoping that, when play resumes, the course will be more manageable as the two-time LPGA winner succumbed to a bogey on the par-4 fourth hole in the dark and wet conditions before the claxon sounded.

The top of the leaderboard has seen some changes since round one, as China’s Miranda Wang was able to complete her second round and post a five-under-par round, taking her to 11-under for the week and in solo first.

Wang is followed by Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom who holds second place at nine-under and Norway’s Celine Borge who sits in third at eight-under.

The completion of round two is set to begin at 12:15pm Irish time, with the third round set to commence at 17:15pm Irish time.
