It was Tommy Fleetwood’s 164th PGA Tour start, he’d had 44 top-10 finishes and 30 top-five finishes in the previous 163, but there was one thing missing from his PGA Tour C.V., and it was a fairly glaring one.
Well, it’s no longer missing, and in addition to getting his first PGA Tour victory, he’s landed the FedEx Cup title and a not-so-insignificant $10,000,000 in prize money.
The Englishman had already accrued over $33 million in career earnings on the PGA Tour, and he’s now the 32nd-ranked player in the PGA Tour’s ‘Career Earnings’ listings and inside the the top 20 in total prizemoney accrued across all tours.
Joint runners-up Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley each pocketed $4,352,500, while Scottie Scheffler’s tie for fourth earns him just over $2.5 million. The world number one may not have a second FedEx Cup title to his name, but he’s earned over $26 million on course in 2025, plus an additional $15 million in bonus payments dished out prior to the Tour Championship.
Rory McIlroy’s PGA Tour season ended on a disappointing note, earning $395,000 for his T23 finish at East Lake, but collecting almost $17 million in on-course earnings on the PGA Tour and an additional $7.5 million in bonus payments.
Shane Lowry takes home $570,000 from the Tour Championship, bringing his total PGA Tour earnings for the season over the $7 million mark.
The week’s biggest winner from an Irish perspective was Tom McKibbin, who helped his Legion XIII team to glory in the LIV Team Championship in Michigan.
The Holywood man teamed up with Caleb Surratt to secure victories in both the quarter-final and semi-final, then shot a five-under in the final round as Legion XIII and Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC found themselves tied at the top.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton then edged DeChambeau and Paul Casey in an aggregate playoff, meaning Legion XIII took top honours and the $14 million winners’ share of the prizemoney to be divided amongst them.
McKibbin had already earned $4,373,801 from his individual performances in his rookie season prior to the Team Championship.
