Play in Pink, the golf fundraising initiative of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI), has been announced as the Charity Partner for the inaugural Women’s Irish Challenge at Malahide Golf Club, taking place from August 27–29.

Already a Charity Partner with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open this extension into the Women’s Irish Challenge offers golfers another way to support upcoming women’s golfing talent as well as the work of the NBCRI.

As part of this partnership, 50% of all ticket sales from the event will be donated directly to Play in Pink to support breast cancer research at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway.

Frances Boyle, National Play in Pink Co-Ordinator, said: “We’re thrilled to be involved with the Women’s Irish Challenge as the Charity Partner. A huge percentage of the fundraising for the NBCRI comes from golf and the support we receive from these national and international golf tournaments is amazing. Thank you to everyone involved and we hope lots of people come out to support the event.”

Simon Honan, Tournament Director of the Women’s Irish Challenge, said: “We are proud to partner with Play in Pink for this year’s event. Their work in funding breast cancer research is inspiring, and to be able to support that through our ticket sales and platform is something we’re really passionate about.

“We’re looking forward our Play In Pink Day on August 28, where all players and spectators are invited to wear pink in support of Play in Pink and the incredible work they do.”

Tickets for the Women’s Irish Challenge are available now for €10, with 50% of proceeds going to Play in Pink.
