Brian McCormack made it back to back victories on the PGA in Ireland region as he clinched the East Coast Energy Pro-Am at Bellewstown Golf Club.
McCormack carded a round of 66 to pip Simon Thornton by two shots on six-under-par and he adds this title to the Elm Park Pro-Am where he finished in a share of first place.
The Tullamore man was one of the later starters but he roared out of the traps with a birdie on the par-5 3rd before following it up with a birdie, eagle run on the 5th and 6th holes.
His only dropped shot of the day came on the ninth but he rallied in fine style with back to back birdies.
Now one clear of Thornton, McCormack put clear daylight between the pair with a birdie at the par-5 15th, taking him to five under for the par fives and six-under in total for his round.
Thornton had posted an early four-under total with a round of 68, he also eagled the par-5 5th.
Four players shared third place on three-under as Cormac Sharvin, Keith Shannon, Richard Kilpatrick and Colin O’Gorman carded rounds of 69 while Andrew Hickey, Joe Dillon and Steven Quinlan took seventh on two-under.
The top-10 was rounded off by Cian Geraghty, Brendan McGovern, Jimmy Bolger and Neil O’Briain on one-under.
Callum Slater won the team competition as his team finished with 98 points.
