Leona Maguire faces a nervous wait to see if she will get a weekend tee time at the Chevron Championship after play was suspended at The Woodlands, Texas with her inside the cut mark.
Maguire bounced back from her opening 75 with a gutsy 71 to lie on the mark at two-over.
The Cavan woman played her front nine in 34 shots after she opened with a birdie and carded further birdies on 16, where she nearly holed out for eagle and 17 where she threatened a hole in one, with her only bogey coming on the par-5 13th.
Disaster struck on the par- 3 3rd when she carded a double bogey but she rallied with birdies on the fifth and eighth either side of a bogey on 7 to keep her hopes of making the cut alive.
The 30-year-old has not missed a cut this season.
Yan Liu leads the way on seven-under after a round of 72.
The LPGA will resume the 2nd round at 7:00am on Saturday, April 26. The 3rd round will begin at approximately 8:45am off #1 and #10 tee. (all local time)
