Stuart Grehan warmed up for this week’s West of Ireland Championship with a comfortable win at the Rosslare Scratch Cup.

The former professional who is making his return to amateur golf this season was in a league of his own as he fired rounds of 64 and 68 to cruise to a five shot victory on twelve-under-par.

The Tullamore/Co Louth golfer picked up the €700 first prize fund.

Rosslare’s own Ian Lynch was second on seven-under after rounds of 67 and 70 alongside Jake Whelan of Grange who shot 66 and 71.

Meanwhile at Grange Golf Club, Liam and Thomas Abom combined beautifully to win the Dublin Scratch Foursomes.

The Edmondstown brothers carded a 142 total of level par around the Sheahan course for a two shot win over Eoghan Collins and David Foy.

The Ian Bamford Scratch Cup and Zara Bolton Scratch Cup took place in Royal Portrush over the weekend.

Simon Ward of Belvoir Park carded rounds of 69 and 72 for a three-under total as she cruised to a six shot victory over Shane McDermott of Slieve Russell, Jenson Boyce and Dwayne Mallon.

Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross was a four shot winner over Kare Lanigan and Deirdre Smith after rounds of 71 and 74 gave her a one-under total.
