Believe it or not, there are other golf tournaments on this week besides the Masters with a stacked Irish lineup ready to compete across the globe.

HotelPlanner Tour

Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club isn’t quite Augusta National but its fairways will be full of hopefuls who dream of playing in the Masters one day.

From an Irish point of view it’s an opportunity for Mark Power, Max Kennedy, Jonny Caldwell, Daniel Mulligan and Dermot McElroy to get some late spring momentum into their seasons while local pros Dan Byrne (Al Hamra) and Damien Scott (The Els Club) tee it up.

Ladies European Tour

Lauren Walsh, Anna Foster, Annabel Wilson and Sara Byrne aren’t having much luck chasing the sun recently and they have arrived at another rain sodden Investec SA Women’s Open at Erinvale Country and Golf Estate.

In fact, it’s Foster who might have the pick of the tans having spent the last week at home in a sun kissed Ireland for the Golf Ireland season launch and her season fund raiser in Elm Park.

Walsh and Byrne both enjoyed good weeks at the Joburg Ladies Open however, with Walsh playing in the final group on Sunday for the first time as she eventually finished fourth while Byrne salvaged an 11th place finish.

Olivia Mehaffey Monday qualified for this event.

Sunshine Tour

Rowan Lester, Liam Grehan and Marc Boucher are all in Sunshine Tour Q-School action as the Final Stage gets underway.
