After two years of the WPGA event in Glasson, WPGA golf professionals will return Ireland once more in 2025 and on Monday 19th May they will tee it up at Donegal Golf Club, Murvagh, located at the gateway to North West Ireland.
A strong field of women’s golf professionals have registered to participate in both the Pro-Am on Monday, May 19th and Pro only competition on Tuesday, May 20th of May.
The Links course at Donegal Golf Club, which has undergone redesign works by former European Ryder Cup Captain Paul Mc Ginley, is as challenging as it is scenically stunning. The golf course sits on the Murvagh Peninsula, which juts out into the Atlantic and offers the serious golfer an unforgettable links golf experience with sweeping views of Donegal Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the Bluestack Mountains and sensational shot values as you plot your way through the high dunes, battling those fresh Atlantic breezes.
International entries to date include Scotland’s former European and LPGA Tour player Cathy Panton Lewis (Berkshire GC) Marie Marindale (Hampstead GC), Emma Martin (Close House GC) and Scotland’s Heather Stirling (Braehead GC), Ainee O’Connor (Sundridge Park Golf Club), Holly Morgan (Lindrick GC) Nikki McLeish (Cathcart Castle Golf Club) Holly Haslam (Crondon Park Golf Club) and Gill Hansom (Hornsea Golf Club)

Those fortunate to participate will get to attend a golf clinic hosted by the professionals before the round which will be played over the magnificent links course. Throughout the day PING will be on-site to offer a demo to all competitors and visitors. Rapsodo will also be on the range with their latest launch monitor.
General Manager of Donegal Golf Club Lynn McCool said: “After the success of the inaugural event played in 2023, we had to continue on from its success and now we move into year three. The feedback we received from all the professionals and the PGA officials was amazing and we believe that is down to the fun-packed day we put together for everyone.
“It’s very exciting to be bringing it to Donegal Golf Club as all the participants get to experience this incredible part of Ireland. I’m thrilled at the support from the golf professionals from across Ireland, England, and Scotland. I love the format we have put together for the Pro-Am with the golf clinic prior to the round and we will have a Q&A with some of the professionals after dinner.
Barbara Hackett of Killester Travel Group commented: “The Flying Golfer, part of the Killester Travel Group, is delighted to continue its association with WPGA by sponsoring this event for the third successive year. We are looking forward to a great event in May at Donegal Golf Club.
