It’s a female dominated Irish on Tour this week as Leona Maguire goes in search of matchplay glory, a trio of girls are on the LET while Beth Coulter will tee it up at Augusta National. Seamus Power is in last chance saloon for the Masters and LIV hits Miami.

Augusta National Women’s Amateur

Amateur mentions here will be a rarity over the course of the season but it is impossible to leave out Beth Coulter who will become the fourth Irish player to compete in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur from April 2-5.

The first two rounds will be contested at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3. Following the 36-hole cut, the leading 30 players and ties will advance to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday, April 5. All players, including those who do not make the cut, will play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday, April 4.

LPGA Tour

Leona Maguire will be looking to go one better than last year at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards after a superb run to the final.

Her glorious run was ended by a rampant Nelly Korda who was in the midst of five successive wins on the LPGA Tour as she ended the season with seven titles.

Korda capped off the longest week on the LPGA Tour with a 4-and-3 victory over Maguire and captured her fourth consecutive LPGA Tour victory.

This is the fourth year for this match-play event.

Ladies European Tour

Lauren Walsh, Annabel Wilson and the globetrotting Sara Byrne tee it up in South Africa at the Joburg Ladies Open.

Walsh has had a solid start to her second season on the Ladies European Tour, making three of her four cuts including a 5th place finish on the opening week at the Lalla Meryem Cup.

Castlerock’s Wilson has made two of her three cuts so far this season with her best finish coming at the Lalla Meryem Cup where she was 33rd.

Byrne meanwhile has been prioritising the Epson Tour, but with no tournament scheduled Stateside until the last week of April she can enjoy a good run of events on the LET.

PGA Tour

Seamus Power has one last roll of the dice at the Valero Texas Open to book a third appearance at the Masters next week.

Power played the 2022 and 2023 Masters tournaments making the cut both times so if he can find the win he needs this week, Augusta National will be to his liking.

LIV Golf

Tom McKibbin showed he can do it on both tours when he finished third in Singapore on the DP World Tour a fortnight ago so he is in good form heading to Miami as LIV Golf docks Stateside for the first time this season.

Graeme McDowell will be looking to pick up his form after he compounded a disappointing week in Singapore with another poor showing in Macau on the International Series as he passed up one of his handful of opportunities to qualify for the Open Championship this summer.
