One need only ask Ian Poulter how big the Texas Children’s Houston Open is and they will soon realise that the Masters in a fortnight’s time pales in comparison to what the par-70 Memorial Park Golf Course has to offer.

Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power are in the field at the Houston Open and both players have very different agendas.
McIlroy is getting the last of his competitive fine tuning in before he heads for Augusta National in the second week of April for his latest jaunt at the career grand slam and a first major title in eleven years.
The Holywood man could have done no more during the early part of the PGA Tour season, winning twice including the Players Championship two weeks ago.
Seamus Power still has the Masters on his agenda although he knows he needs to pick up a victory over the next two events to book his ticket and make it three Irish driving down Magnolia Lane.
The West Waterford man registered his first top-10 of the season last week and climbed to 110th in the world rankings. Now hopefully with some momentum at his back, Power could conceivably play his way into the Masters but if not then the RBC Heritage the week after, via the Aon Swing 5 which is a Signature Event.
A win would transform his season and put the Ryder Cup on his radar.
“Hopefully I can play my way into Augusta, but right now, I would play the Dominican the week after Augusta and then go from there,” he said. “We’ll see. Things can change fast in golf, so that’s going to be the plan,” said Power.
53-year-old Pádraig Harrington resumes his bid to become the oldest PGA Tour winner.
