Anna Foster and Annabel Wilson flew up the leaderboard on day two of the Ford Women’s NSW Open at Wollongong Golf Club.
Elm Park’s Foster fired a fine round of 67 to climb into the top-20 while Castlerock’s Wilson bettered her opening round by ten shots as she made the cut with a blistering 65.
Foster made a birdie, par, bogey start before she really kicked into life. Back to back birdies on the 5th and 6th gave her momentum heading to the turn and birdies on the 9th and 13th followed as she moved to three-under for the tournament.
Wilson’s birdies came in bunches, making three in a row from the second hole before repeating the feat from the 13th.
Her only dropped shot of the day came on the 16th but she got that shot back on the 18th.
It wasn’t Lauren Walsh’s day as the Castlewarden woman dropped back to level-par after a round of 73.
Mimi Rhodes and Sara Kouskova lead the way on twelve-under after rounds of 62 and 63 respectively.
