Olivia Mehaffey charged up the leaderboard on the final day of the Platinum Ladies Open on the Sunshine Tour as she claimed solo fourth place.
After opening her week with a round of 72, Mehaffey came roaring back with back to back rounds of 65 for an eleven-under total, fours hots behind eventual winner Kiera Floyd.
It was quite the run from the Tandragee native who played her last 27 holes in twelve-under-par.
On Friday, Mehaffey opened her final round with a birdie before a birdie, bogey, birdie run to the turn saw her turn in 33.
The former Curtis Cup star made it back to back birdies on the 10th before finishing in style with three on the bounce from the 14th.
“Yeah it was good,” she said. “Nice to shoot two low scores back to back.”
Mehaffey lost her full playing privileges on the Ladies European Tour last season and was unable to earn a full card via the subsequent Q-School in December but this is a sign that maybe she is heading in the right direction after a difficult few years.
Canice Screene missed the cut on her professional debut on what was her first competitive start since earning LET and LET Access Series status at Q-School before Christmas.
