Rory Milne played a key role in helping University of Louisiana Monroe clinch the Gulf Coast Collegiate team title.
Milne, a senior studying business administration, carded a final round of 71 to finish in a share of 9th place on level-par in the individual and help his side to a five shot victory on eight-under-par.
It’s the first individual collegiate top-10 for the Waterford man who finished just four shots off the lead.
Milne began on the par-5 2nd hole and got off to a hot start with a birdie there and a second birdie of the day on the par-4 5th.
Dropped shots followed on the 9th and 17th but he finished with a flourish and closed with a birdie on the first.
The 23-year-old is a two-time Munster Boys champion, a 2019 Irish Boys Faldo Series Champion while he won the 2020 Munster Senior Cup with Faithlegg in 2020.
Milne’s career-low round is 8-under-par 64.
