Rising DP World Tour prospect Angel Ayora has rejected the opportunity to join the 2025 LIV Golf League according to a report.
Spanish publication Ten Golf have said Ayora snubbed a lucrative two-year contract to replace Kalle Samooja who was relegated from LIV Golf in 2024.
Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC are on the lookout for a fourth member to join Richard Bland and Adrian Meronk.
20-year-old Ayora has been tipped to be one of the brightest young sparks on the DP World Tour this season and has already impressed in his first two starts with a T6 finish at the Australian PGA and T23 at the Australian Open.
The Spaniard won the Rosa Challenge Tour in September on his way to ealing promotion from the Challenge Tour to the DP World Tour in November.
A runner-up finish at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final was a standout result from his four top-10 finishes in the last two months.
Ayora had reportedly been circled as one of LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman’s most important signings for the 2025 League but the world number 238 has snubbed the advances of the Saudi backed tour.
The search for a fourth Cleeks GC player will continue before the deadline in February with Graeme McDowell linked with a return.
McDowell endured two underwhelming seasons with Kaymer’s side during the first couple of years of LIV Golf, leading to his contract to expire.
But despite an improved performance with Brooks Koepka and Smash GC this term after they offered him a lifeline last winter, a new deal hasn’t been offered to the 2010 US Open champion.
The Ayora to LIV Golf links won’t end just yet with Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC on the hunt for a new recruit after fellow Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra left the team recently.
