Joe Lyons continues to conquer Europe and he’s never going to stop.

Lyons picked up his third national title of the 2024 season as he added the Portuguese Senior Amateur Championship to his Spanish and Irish Senior titles.

The Galway man carded rounds of 65, 70 and 70 to win by three shots from Scottish golfer Rob Jenkins.

Meanwhile, in Argentina, Ireland are in tenth place at the Copa Juan Carlos Tailhade after the opening round of the singles and team competition.

Ireland are represented by Paul Coughlan of Castleknock and Millicent’s Brian Doran while Coughlan lies 21st and Doran 45th in the individual standings.
