The 2025 LIV Golf season doesn’t get underway until February 6th in Saudi Arabia, but if a recent report is right, we could get to see LIV’s biggest star, Bryson DeChambeau, competing in a pro event before then.

According to the report from the Hindustan Times, a new International Series tournament in New Delhi, India, will soon be announced. The International Series is collection of 10 tournaments co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and LIV Golf.

Beginning in 2022, the series has given an opportunity for LIV players to earn rankings points in tournaments officially recognised by the Official World Golf Ranking. It also provides a pathway to LIV, with the winner of the International Series Order of Merit earning a spot in the upstart league.

But the most intriguing part of the Hindustan Times‘ report is that DeChambeau is in talks to play in the new tournament, which is expected to take place January 30-February 2 at DLF Golf & Country Club’s Gurugram course.

Should he do so, Dechambeau would make some history in the process, becoming the first men’s major champion to play a pro tournament in India.

The Hindustan Times spoke to DeChambeau about his potential inclusion in the new tournament, and he expressed his excitement as well as his interest in supporting fellow LIV Crushers teammate Anirban Lahiri, who is from India.

“I am aware that [Lahiri] is going to be involved, and we have had a few talks about it. It will be a very important week for him. I will support him fully, and if everything works out, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play in India,” DeChambeau said. “I have never been there, but it’s a country that has fascinated me. I have always loved being a global player and I greatly enjoy playing in as many countries as possible.”

Should the tournament happen and if DeChambeau and Lahiri do indeed play, they’ll likely be joined by Crushers teammates Paul Casey and Charles Howell III, with the potential of more LIV players entering the field as well.

The 2025 LIV Golf season begins the next week with LIV Golf Riyadh.
