Despite not having the day they would have wanted, Sara Byrne and Lauren Walsh are both firmly in the mix to advance to the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School.

Dromoland Castle’s Byrne has slipped from second place to nineteenth after a second round of 73 left her on four-under-par.

Byrne found the going slightly tougher on the Panther course and mixed as many as six bogeys with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 9th.

The Cork woman is five shots off the pace but is two shots inside the cut mark with the top-35 and ties advancing to the final stage.

Castlewarden’s Walsh carded a level-par 72 on the Bobcat course to remain on one-under but she is now one shot outside the top-35 with two rounds remaining.

By virtue of competing at Second Stage, both are guaranteed Epsom Tour Category I or Category K status for 2025, but making it through to Final Qualifying would guarantee Epsom Tour Category C status and a shot at joining Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow on the LPGA circuit.
