Kirkistown Castle star Beth Coulter settled for a share of fifth place at the Stanford Intercollegiate as she continued her fine start to the season.

The Arizona State student now has three top-10 finishes in four starts since her Curtis Cup heroics in September.

This week, her six-under total saw her finish five shots off the lead after rounds of 69, 70 and 71 as Jasmine Koo won by a shot on eleven-under-par.

Elsewhere Rebekah Gardner has helped Miami University into the lead after day one of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate.

A now Sara Byrne-less Miami are two-over-par after round one with second-year student Gardner also performing well and in a share of 13th place alongside Katie Posts who is playing as an individual.

Anna Dawson shares twelfth place at the Diamante Intercollegiate with her college team Little Rock holding a one shot lead on five-under after the opening round.
