Carton House is the place to be this week as the KPMG Women’s Irish Open returns for a third successive year with the O’Meara course hosting the event for the first time.
Leona Maguire will be the headline act but there will be plenty of Irish interest with thirteen home hopefuls teeing it up on Thursday.
She will be joined by Olivia Mehaffey and blossoming Ladies European Tour rookie Lauren Walsh who is making her debut in the event as Annabel Wilson and Anna Foster get their professional careers underway.
There will be plenty of amateur interest in the form of Kate Lanigan (Hermitage), Anna Abom (Edmondstown), Roisin Scanlon (Woburn), Aideen Walsh (Lahinch), Canice Screene (Croham Hurst), Emma Fleming (Elm Park), Kate Dillon (Oughterard) and Olivia Costello (Roscommon).
DP World Tour
Tom McKibbin moved up to 13th in the Race to Dubai Rankings after a 10th place finish in Denmark last week and he tees up in the Belfry this week for the Betfred British Masters as he looks to maintain his push for a PGA Tour card next season.
Challenge Tour
Galway’s Liam Nolan will make his professional debut on the Challenge Tour in Poland as the Rosa Challenge Tour welcomes a host of Irish players.
Nolan turned professional last week and he will rub shoulders with former Walker Cup teammate Mark Power as well as Conor Purcell, Conor O’Rourke, Dermot McElroy, Gary Hurley and Ronan Mullarney.
