A fast-finishing Stuart Grehan ended the week tied for fourth at Redditch Golf Club, marking his best result of the season on the Clutch Pro Tour, one stroke ahead of Robert Brazill who shot a one-over final-round.

The Naas man had started the day one off the lead after a blistering 65 on day two, but it was a case of one-step forward, a step or two back on the final day as he picked up a shot on three but gave it back on five, then picked up another on six but dropped two more on seven and eight.

With leader and eventual winner Callum Farr streaking ahead, Brazill’s victory hopes were gone, but there were still valuable ranking points and prize money on the line, so he had t regroup and did so on the back, trading two birdies with two bogeys to finish tied for seventh.

Fellow countryman and Tullamore native Grehan knew that a win was unlikely as he started the day five off the pace, but birdies at one and six had him moving up and when he added two more at 11 and 14, a top-three finish was a distinct possibility.

A bogey at 17 ended those chances, but he responded well to birdie 18 and ultimately secured a tie for fourth.

John Ross Galbraith closed out with a two-under 69 to move to -2 for the tournament and climb into a tie for 25th.

Joint 36-hole leader Farr followed up his second-round 65 with another on the final day to run out a four-stroke winner at -14 over David Hague, with Jack Yule to further adrift in solo third at -8.
