The Toro Tour has announced the schedule for the 2024/25 season and player registration is officially opened on their website www.torotour.com
The Toro Tour is heading into their fifth full schedule of Winter events hosted on the shores of the Costa del Sol in Andalucia Spain and starting in November the first event of their sixteen event series is at The San Roque Resort.
All the Toro Tour events are three days and count towards the players European rankings and WAGR, attracting some of Europes finest Pro and Elite amateur golfers. Building on the success of the seasons past, the small non-profit tour run by professional caddie Calum McGregor and his partner Angie Birrer, has now grown into the largest full schedule winter tour in Europe.
With Prize money and WAGR points available at every event, the national golf teams of Europe will compete head to head in a field of players that also include LET, Challenge Tour and future DP World tour players.
This season the players are also in for a few surprises as the Toro Tour team constantly strive to make the Tour a perfect destination to train and compete over the Winter months.
“This winter season it’s great to announce five new courses to the schedule, including the Alps Tour Qualifying venue of La Cala where we will play on all the championship courses in one swing. It’s also amazing to play at Alferini, the home of the Ladies Spanish Open,” said McGregor.
“We have also managed to secure the San Roque Resort that hosted the DP World qualifying school for many years and include Valle Romano where they played the Challange Tour Andalucian match play events and a second stage Q school venue fore DP World tour.
“With these courses added to the schedule alongside the regular host venues, we don’t think we could have created a better schedule of events for our players.
“This season the Toro Tour has also partnered with PG Golf and sports Academy, run by ex DP World tour player and Spanish Open runner up Peter Gustafsson. This will give our visiting players access to both PG academy facilities in Marbella and Mijas where the players can access the Putting and short game practice areas and floodlight covered Trackman range.
With the collaboration, Toro Tour players will also have full access to Peter’s team of dedicated coaches who already look after a number of DP World players.”
A special PG Performance swing has also been created that will be based around the Marbella academy (Atalaya Golf) and the spectacular LET final venue of Alferini and Los Flamingos and this swing is going to include open training sessions, skills challenges between events, evening BBQs, putting competitions and much more.
So it’s more than just a Tour, players are going to really be able to hone their skills this winter and discussions are also underway with the newly opened Clubhouse Indoor Golf and sport bar in Puerto Banus Marbella will be available to Team Toro players from midday to midnight everyday, giving players the perfect base to meet between practice and events.
With the collaboration of PG and Trackman the Toro Tour is also planning some simulator events for players and their friends and family to compete in.
So, the Toro Tour is ready and looking forward to seeing you all this warm sunny winter. Registration for event are open now with early bird deals available on tournament entries…..
